Random purchases I have made during quarantine!
I can’t believe it has been over a month since we have been ordered to stay home and social distance. As someone who can’t sit still, never takes naps and constantly has to be on the go running errands, this “new normal” is going against everything I am and everything that feels right to me. To compensate, I have been scouring the internet for a little retail therapy (obviously without spending a ton of money) and some DIY projects to fill all of this empty time & space, especially when my kids are with their dad for the weekend. Check out some of my favorite finds that I suspect I would have never purchased under ordinary circumstances.
DIY PROJECTS
Admittedly, I have joined the rest of the universe in this obsession over tie dye. Not only have I purchased multiple sweat sets and t-shirts (see some of my favorites below), I have decided to pull the trigger and make my own creations. This kit is a total winner. There are enough supplies to make up to 36 projects and it comes with everything you need including rubber bands, gloves and even a YouTube how-to video. I thought I would make a matching lounge set but I can’t find white sweatpants anywhere. Going to start with this hoodie and this amazing oversized tee instead.
Another trend I have become totally loving lately is personalized beaded bracelets like these. And then I found this “make you own kit” by April Soderstrom. You can select up to 30 letters and your color preferences and you will enough materials to make 5-6 bracelets. Haven’t taken mine off since.
SELF CARE
It’s no secret everyone is loading up on self care products with all this time at home. I literally must do at least one face mask every other day. This Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask is life. Sharing some of my other favorites feel good purchases that are helping me get by and ease my stress are definitely worth every penny.
For about 3 months now I have turning to CBD to help with my anxiety and stress levels. I found the more consistent I am with incorporating into my routine the better I was sleeping and managing my everyday stress. Equilibria is by far my most favorite brand. Even better it is a women owned company based here in Chicago. My go-to’s are the daily softgels which I take in the morning with my smoothie. These are slow release and just aid at taking the edge off throughout the day and for me, so necessary during this crazy time. At night, since I am not the best sleeper, I use their Daily Drops before I go to bed and no joke it has completely changed the way I fall asleep.
There is some good to spending all of this time WFH. I now have the time for an everyday workout. Loving my daily Melissa Wood Health power series sessions for arms and lower body. Only side effect, my super sore glutes and shoulders. So I have committed to adding a foam rolling session following each workout. For some of the best for lengthening your muscles and smoothing out facia check out Lauren Roxburgh…. she is a goddess and offers some amazing YouTube videos for you to practice at home.
AND OF COURSE….RETAIL THERAPY
It is inevitable that with all of this time online, I am guilty for multiple loungewear purchases as well as some fun Spring wardrobe additions with the hope I will soon have the chance to wear them outside of my living room.
Some of my recent favorites are this H&M plaid blazer (only $30), these Dolce Vita Multi-Colored Bootie (currently 25% off) and this Urban Outfitters Tie Dye Sweatshirt. Linking more of my recent finds below.
